Black Water Grill Restaurant in Salem

I loved it! I'm now hooked on their fries. Service was quick and the food was great! Also loved the converted house look.

This place is great if you like a relaxing home like environment. Low lighting. Great for a romantic date night.I I had the sword fish. It was Very good.

Excellent service and delicious food. The scallops were fantastic.

Attended a holiday party downstairs...facilities were beautiful, food was delicious & service were great! A definite place to go!!!

Great food and excellent portion sizes for the price. The restaurant is nicely designed and decorated. Good place to eat lunch during the work week. Their deck is beautiful!

Lovely atmosphere. Our server was wonderful and very polite. That can not be said for the rest of the staff. The woman who greeted us, and seated us looked like she didn't want us there. She was very curt. We were vacationing for the weekend and thought we'd try this restaurant, as it was in the area. We should have kept driving. The only salvation was our server, as the food was ok, not great, the drinks were good, the atmosphere was lovely, but 2 different staff members being rude makes me think we were not even remotely welcome. I wouldn't go again

Delicious. It was highly recommended by someone who was local to the area! I couldn't be happier! Huge plates great prices! I was very impressed. Service was great! I will highly recommend this place for excellent food!

An island popping up in a quarantine sea. I called on a whim to see if they had any specials for St Patty's day, and they luck of the Irish held out with one of their last two specials. So tasty and filling.Definitely returning.

I enjoyed a nice meal out on the deck. The menu contained a creative variety of options that I wanted to try, and the servers were absolutely wonderful in terms of being friendly and attentive. I am looking forward to swinging by here again the next time I am passing through town.

On the way to screamfest about 5 pm on a Saturday night my husband googled for somewhere to eat close to CANOBIE. Black Water Grille came up. We had a total of six and upon arrival the hostess asked if we had a reservation. We did not but she accommodated us with seating. Honestly, it was not busy and we had been confused why we would need a reservation. We ordered four appetizers calamari, nachos, crunchy fingers and Asian lettuce wraps. Also six meals all was absolutely delicious and the portions huge. Now at this point the restaurant was completely full and my husband said I understand why a reservation is required. Our waitress Katie was awesome and the staff was so friendly. It is Very clean and the pricing is great. I highly recommend and can’t wait to go back.

This is a decent restaurant that puts too much stock in the historic location. I found the food bland but the bill not....

Went for bridal shower. Cozy function room downstairs. Catered food and drinks were delicious and staff accommodating.

Our first time visiting The Blackwater Grill and although the staff was courteous and friendly, the food was good, the atmosphere was not quite what we enjoy. We thought it a bit pricey.

Amazing ambiance and friendly waitstaff. The meals were superb! We just happened to stop here because I pulled up restaurants near us and my 11yr old son chose Black Water Grill! Not from anywhere nearby, but we'll be back!

Love this place. Most recently hosted a bridal shower in the room downstairs. The space, service and food was just perfect. We also rented the whole place for a large event a few years back and they were fantastic to work with then as well!

Just had a baby shower in the function room downstairs. Everything was amazing! Evan goes above and beyond!! Great food. Great customer service!

Service was impeccable and food was remarkable. Would dine here again if I'm in the area. Swordfish, steaktips, chicken sautee and key lime pie were all first class.

Nice place slightly off the beaten path in an former house. Active bar seating or intement romantic dining, you pick your path for the night. Well rounded menu of American Comfort food to gormet fine dining plates are available.

call for a pick up order to take on The go. Staff was okay. Not super friendly but not rude. By the time we got their food was ready to go. Felt a little awkward. Didn't stay so couldn't judge the ambience or Vive or in-house service. But did get burgers and by the time we got back to eat them they were still really good. French fries tasted fresh and we're not mushy or soggy. Burger was cooked perfect and delicious but they did put the wrong cheese on it. Overall still tasted good would order from again

Excellent food and Atmosphere

Good place to eat. Very tasty food. A bit pricey but they know how to cook. I like the Black Water Grill (BWG) Burger. Try the Asian chicken salad. Yum.

Was invited to a surprise birthday party here. To my surprise, they have a function room downstairs complete with a full bar and bathrooms. I had only been upstairs for meals before. Always had a wonderful lunch or dinner. Nice porch to sit out on in the summer. Food was very good. Dining area is broken up into smaller rooms so has a cozy feel to it.

Really disappointed... Everything was over cooked even though the the burger and steak tips were ordered medium, my swordfish was obviously frozen and press grilled into a piece of dry leather 🤮. The rice was delicious. There are too many great eateries in the area to eat here again.

It is a good place. The food is good. Service was good.

Great French dip and crab cakes!

We have been consistently eating at this place for several years now. It’s good value for money; seafood on their menu is always yummy and their burger consistent. There are at times hits and misses, but that’s ok. Live music lounge side on week-ends is a plus. They also have a semi private room that hosts a large party to 10 on a round table that we also like.

It's a 5 star review for me! I just had a bridal shower for my daughter and was totally impressed with the function room , the food, and the service. Evan was absolutely wonderful to work with and his attention to detail is commendable. All my guests raved about the decor, as well as the food. I highly recommend Black Water Grille for your next function.!

Super Quaint restaurant excellent staff all the food has been very good in all the seedings we have had with them the bar atmosphere is really cool in the bar itself is set up so you can talk and still see people in the bar area

They had some great sounding specials, the cooks definitely seem inspired. Our appetizer was delicious, sandwiches not so much. My pastrami was tough and my wifes chicken bland. I'd give it another try for a full on entree. Staff was great and ambiance above average.

Food was excellent, service was quick, clean inviting place with off street parking

Food was delicious, had pastrami sandwich with fries. I forgot to take any pictures but the presentation of the dishes were done well.We sat out on the deck as it was a beautiful day. The furniture is rod iron but they provided cushions for each chair so it was not uncomfortable.

1st visit was for an informal dinner, but we were surprised by the quality of food & service. Steaks, sea food & drinks were perfect. We enjoyed the experience so much we decided to have our wedding anniversary dinner there. We dressed up a little more than the night before & we were seated in a quieter location. The food and drinks did not disappoint again. When in Salem we will eat here again.

Great service, very mindful of my wife's good allergies and helpful with menu options to accommodate. Plus the food was excellent and portions sizeable. The sweet potato fries were awesome.

Great service, and even better food. The atmosphere is nice and quiet. I ordered the Shed Burger (strongly recommend) while my wife ordered a crab cake and chicken salad.

Food was delicious and the bartender did a great job making the drinks and martinis were only 8.00. They also had an acoustic guy who had an amazing voice. We will definitely be back!

Great food and service

A very nice place to eat and meet up with friends or family to catch up . The live music on weekends makes for a terrific evening .I must say the lobster and veggie dip is simply amazing. The wait staff is excellent and friendly.
